Although the castles have stood guard for several hundred years, life does change. Published in 1998, the majority of information found in Dream Sleeps remains valid. However, a few of the hotels have closed and rates quoted are in the old currencies.
Rate categories such as Very Expensive, Expensive, Moderate, and Inexpensive remain relative to each other. You'll find updated rates on this website. To quote specific hotel rates is difficult at best because so much depends on the season, the view, the plumbing, and, in some cases, your negotiating skills. As always, confirm rates, taxes, and the type of room you want before booking.
